Just Skip It

I've been skipping my eyeliner lately during the day and I am really surprised at the number of comments I am getting from friends...and they are all positive! I would not have dreamed of going anywhere without eyeliner even 5 years ago but I must admit I like the fresh, clean look for day. My eyes just look more open and awake. I do have to make sure I don't forget to use Eye Lift before bed so that when I wake up in the morning the puffiness and wrinkles are reduced. And, with two coats of LashFusion on top and one on the bottom I am ready to fly out the door. No liner, no shadow. It's tough to take that first step. I've been wearing both for as long as I can remember but after about a week of doing this I am really happy with the look and when people say I look younger and more rested...well, that's all I need. Give it a try and you may be surprised at how many people think you look better with less. Bonus: It takes less time to apply AND when you do use liner and shadow for a special event it looks so dramatically different - you make a real statement with your makeup.

Skin and Lip Protection Tips

It's hard to believe that the cold weather will be here soon but there's one thing I can guarantee you, it's coming!! I live in a VERY cold climate as well and the harsh air is always an issue for me in the winter. While I am not a dermatologist and our products are cosmetics, I certainly can share with you what works for me. It is always a good idea to protect your skin and lips from exposure. I use my SkinFusion Brightening lotion under my SkinFusion fluid foundation for a double dose of moisture nourishment, antioxidants and mineral benefits. I also apply the brightener again at bedtime. It feels so soothing and quenching to my skin, especially when my skin has been tortured by the elements.

I find that using my XL night time lip treatment works wonderfully to condition and hydrate my lips while I sleep so I wake up to fuller, smoother moisturized lips. I will also share with you that my husband who goes ice fishing in the winter (I know! Why would ANYONE do THAT??!!) has used XL at night for the last two winters and says it is the first time his lips have stayed hydrated and conditioned all season long. For daytime however I would recommend for you to use a LipFusion colorshine or try our new Liquid Lipstick for a creamier consistency. It hydrates and re-plumps continuously so it may provide better protection for your lips against the cold, dry air. I always say, when in doubt, re-apply. There's nothing worse than having that naked-lips feeling.  So take a few seconds to reapply often throughout the day.

I just got home from a very exciting trip to HSN. We were on the network this past Saturday night. We sold out of Beach Baby Bling in like 4 minutes! LipFusion Plump + RePlump Liquid Lipstick

Just checking in with all you LipFusion Fans and wanted to pass along an interesting tip.

I had an interview  with a magazine editor recently who told me that she is totally hooked on LipFusion because it makes her lips look so amazing. Times they are a Changing...

It's funny for me to recall the days long ago when I was studying makeup artistry and setting out on this new exciting career. It was just over 20 years ago. Hair was big and oh so sprayed (do you remember the "wall of bangs" look?) and makeup...oh the makeup....I guess the word "scary" comes to mind. It was all about covering things up, the more the better, just slap it on there. I bought pancake makeup foundation that was about an inch thick, lips were overdrawn with mismatched dark lip pencils and mascara was piled on until a few lashes looked like even fewer, but were they thick! (and clumpy too!) Not a pretty time. What were we thinking?

 

It is amazing to me how things have changed in the makeup industry. With the incredible advances in cosmetic science, instead of faking fuller lips, smoother skin, a flawless complexion, a perfect tan and luscious lashes we can have them. For real !!! Makeup artistry is not so much about covering up the flaws and "tricking" the eye into seeing something that isn't there. It's about using cutting edge products that are also treatments for the skin, lips and lashes and seeing transformational results that are real and achievable every day.
